i don't love the way they portrayed autism in max, they retconned his whole character this season to make him a complete stereotype of ASD because "autism = smart"... which isn't how that works.... idk, i'm a girl with autism and this irked me but at least miraculous is attempting to provide representation..? even though they mischaracterized a lot between ASD and OCD :/
Well, I undestand your feeling, my brother have autism but I think that Portraying Max as intelligent, capable, and organized seems nice to me. Max has always been intelligent, but he hadn't been introduced that way before. Often, autism is assumed to mean that the person is difficult to manage, as if they were stupid, unable to do the same things as someone without the condition. I prefer the stereotype of someone intelligent. I think I would be more offended if they projected the autistic stereotype onto someone completely opposite to Max.
